Scenes with room to linger
- Fairies in Christmas hats, dancing with a star wand or wearing a flower crown
- Living rooms with a decorated tree, a fireplace with up to five stockings, a patterned armchair and a sleeping cat
- A log chalet at night, or a winter village with a church and a stone bridge over a stream
- Santa with a candy cane in a snowy village at night, carol singers with lanterns, a Christmas market
- A leaping reindeer among ornaments, snowflake rosettes and holly leaves, and an Advent wreath with four candles
The chalet and village scenes give you a night sky to blend. The living rooms ask you to tell fabric, wood and flame apart, and the fairies bring hair, wings and wands.

Paper and tools
The right paper depends on what you color with, so look at the table before you press print.
| Tool | Paper |
|---|---|
| Colored pencils | Plain printer paper, 75-80 g/m² (US: 20 lb), is enough |
| Markers | Card stock or 120-200 g/m² paper, since markers can bleed through plain paper |
| Watercolor pencils | The same heavier paper, if your printer accepts it (check its manual) |
Planning a long session
Order of work
- Pick three or four colors for the whole page and write them on a scrap sheet.
- Color the largest areas first, such as the tree, the armchair or the wings.
- Move to the small objects: ornaments, candles, berries, stockings.
- Add shadows last, with a darker version of the color beneath.
Taking a break
Lighter pages such as the ornament coloring pages make a good change of pace between two long sessions.
