One subject, little background
Many of these sheets sit on a white background or a patch of snow. The picture is a single object or a single character, so there is no scenery to plan. They suit a short break, a rainy afternoon or a table with several children.
| Subject | On the sheet |
|---|---|
| Objects | A big star, a bell with a bow, a candle with a flame, a gift box with a bow, a winter mitten with a snowflake |
| Stockings | One with flowers and zigzags, holly, a candy cane and snowflakes around it |
| Reindeer | Standing on a hill with a bell and a patterned collar, or a small one beside a snowman |
| Trees | With a star, ornaments and bows, flanked by candy canes, or drawn with thick lines and three balls |
| Characters | A snowman with a plaid scarf, three snowmen holding hands, a small elf with a candy cane |
A simple snowman with a top hat, a carrot nose and three buttons has no background at all, and neither does the big Christmas star. Both are quick to finish.
Finishing one in ten minutes
- Choose three colors before you start and use only those.
- Color from the top of the page down, so a hand never rests on wet marker.
- Leave the background blank. A white sheet with one colored object looks complete.
- Pin the page on a fridge or send it in a card while the ink is dry.
For crisp results, trace the edge of each area with the tip of the pencil first, then fill inward. Even the small snowflakes around a stocking stay clean that way.
When you want more
You can also print the same easy page twice and compare two color schemes side by side.
