Four ways to write it
| Lettering | Around it |
|---|---|
| Bubble letters | A double frame, stars and snowflakes |
| Script letters | A Christmas tree with round ornaments and a star on top |
| Rounded letters | Three hanging ornaments and a row of wrapped presents |
| Banner | Holly leaves and berries in each corner, stars and snowflakes |
Each of the four prints on US Letter paper (8.5 × 11 in), which is large enough to be seen from across a room. Print all four and let each person pick a favorite.
Turning a sheet into something to give
- Print on card stock if your printer accepts it (check its manual). It holds markers better than plain paper.
- Color the letters first, in one color or one color per letter.
- Fill the frame, holly or ornaments with the remaining colors.
- Fold the page in half for a card, or tape it to a door or window as a sign.
- Write the name of the person inside, or leave the message blank for a family card.
Coloring the lettering
Wide letters
Bubble and rounded letters leave plenty of room for stripes, dots or a gradient from red to orange.
Script
Thin script reads best in a single dark color, with the tree below carrying the brighter shades.
- On a fridge or a classroom door, with the name of the class written under the lettering
- In a window, facing the street
- As a place mat under a plate, if you laminate it
For more to color around the lettering, the tree pages and ornament pages match the same motifs, and the easy pages make quick extras for a card.
