Workshop and snow
Indoors
- An elf kneeling to wrap a present in polka dot paper
- An elf painting a star on a rocking horse in a toy workshop
- A girl elf on a shelf with a teddy bear and a train
- Elves sorting letters at a table in a mail room
More scenes
- Four elves passing presents toward a sleigh
- Elves waving from a toy train that circles a decorated tree
- An elf asleep inside a starry stocking
- Portraits with striped hats and poinsettias
Santa himself is on the Santa coloring pages, if you want the elves' boss to complete the scene.
The props deserve their own colors: a roll of paper, scissors, a train, a teddy bear, a rocking horse, a magnifying glass, a compass. Give each a different shade and the workshop looks busy.
Elves around the world
| Where | Name | What people do |
|---|---|---|
| Sweden | Tomte | A small bearded farm guardian in a red cap gets a bowl of rice porridge on Christmas Eve |
| Denmark, Norway | Nisse | The same figure under another name, with the same porridge |
| United States | Elf on the Shelf | The book came out in 2005 |
| Germany | Wichteltür | A tiny elf door on a wall, now a December custom in many families |
The bearded gnome on these sheets, with a patterned hat, a big pompom and a small gift sack, pairs well with the tomte story.
